A woman who is following her family profession is Brittany Force. Brittany Force is a drag racer currently competing in the NHRA. Force races Top Fuel dragsters. She is the daughter of drag racer John Force and the sister of fellow racers Courtney Force and Ashley Force Hood.
Brittany Force had a breakout season in 2016, winning for the first time and contending for the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Top Fuel championship with her Monster Energy dragster.
But Force is out for more in 2017: More wins, more No. 1 qualifiers – and the Top Fuel World Championship for John Force Racing.
“Everyone starts at the same playing level, and we all have the same goals in mind,” Force said. “I want more wins this year, I want to go after that championship.”
Brittany Force took birth on 8 July 1986. Her family lives in Yorba Linda, Calif, so this place is her hometown too. She is 30 years old. Force attended California State University, Fullerton, where she received a degree in education.
Force started her career by earning her Super Comp dragster license under the watchful eye of NHRA Funny Car Champion Jack Beckman, who was her teacher at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School. She raced in the entry-level class (along with sister Courtney) for three years before moving to Top Alcohol Dragster for three more seasons.
Force turned professional in 2013, and her rookie season proved fruitful, as she won the Auto Club Road to the Future Award as the NHRA’s top first-year driver. She joined sisters Ashley and Courtney and JFR teammate Robert Hight in winning the award. She also earned RACER magazine’s Rookie of the Year for all motorsports for 2013.
After winning Auto Club Road to the Future Award as the NHRA’s top first-year driver in 2013, the 2014 season was even better. As Force earned three No. 1 qualifiers, raced to four final rounds and reached the Countdown to the Championship – NHRA’s version of the playoffs – for the first time. Force and sister Courtney made history at Topeka that year as they raced to the No. 1 spots in their respective classes to become the first ever sisters to qualify No. 1 in professional categories the same event.
In 2015, Brittany Force added another No. 1 qualifier and raced to two more final rounds.
Like her 16-time NHRA world champion father and her sisters Ashley and Courtney, Brittany is fiercely competitive. When the helmet goes on, the visor comes down, and her dragster rolls up to the starting line, she’s ready to win.
And now, she’s ready to win the 2017 Top Fuel championship.
