Casyo “krept” Johnson a young rapper from Gypsy Hill (south London) was born on 4th February 1989, while Karl “Konan” Wilson from Thornton Heath, who is also known as “Jamaica’s first star child” was born on 3rd September 1989. In 2005, Krept and Konan met for the first time and have been inseparable friends since. Along with being members of ‘Gipset’ band of South London, they started making music under the same aliases- Krept and Konan.

In 2012 they accepted rapper Skepta’s invitation to join him on his tour in the UK, and later in 2013 released their third mixtape ‘Young Kingz’ featuring a lot more artists. And for ‘Young Kingz’ they won the Best UK Newcomer at the 2014 MOBO awards with the very low promotion when compared to the other artists. ‘Don’t waste my time’ the album’s promotional single rose to high fame in 2014 which featured a lot many artists and entered the UK Singles Chart, at number 154. They won ‘Best International Act- UK’ by BET international beating many top artists.
On 28th March 2015 they released a video featuring Rick Ross for ‘Certified’ and their song ‘ The long way home’ was added to the playlist of BBC’s Radio 1xtra. Later on June 28th, they released ‘Freak of the Week’ entering number 9 on UK’s Singles Chart.
Krept and Konan have not given a single slip of chance to media to know about their family. Their personal life is well hidden, although recent speculations have it through a photo assumed to be a date between Krept and Rita Ora, a spark of romance.
