William Jefferson Clinton also known as Bill Clinton is an American politician and lawyer who was the 42nd President of the United States of America. He served as the President from the year 1993 to 2001. He was the former Governor of Arkansas from the year 1979 to 1981. Clinton was the Arkansas Attorney General from the year 1977 to 1979. Clinton was idiotically a New Democrat, but he went on to become the member of the Democratic Party.
Bill was born in Arkansas and raised there in his early life. He was born on August 19, 1946, at the Julia Chester Hospital. He was the son of a travelling salesman William Jefferson Blythe Jr. and mother, Virginia Dell Cassidy. His father William died three months before his birth. Clinton’s parents married in 1943. After Clinton was born, his mother headed to New Orleans to study nursing. Clinton was left with his grandparents Eldridge and Edith Cassidy. His grandparents owned a small grocery store.
In 1950, his mother married Roger Clinton Sr. who owned an automobile dealership. His stepfather used to beat his mother and half-brother often. Bill had to stop the fight often. Clinton was also questioned about his avoidance of military service during the Vietnam War by his opponents. His campaign was focused on economic issues like unemployment. At the end of 1992 Clinton was elected as the president of the United States of America defeating Republican candidate George Bush and independent candidate Ross Perot.
His term was successful when he entered office interest rates, and unemployment began to drop. His wife Hillary Clinton was appointed to be the head of a task force that provided special attention to national health care reform. In 1996 Clinton was elected for a second term. He came under investigation for having an afire with Monica Lewinsky who was a White House intern.
In December, the House of Representatives ruled to impeach Bill Clinton. It was the second time in American history that a president was being impeached. During his second term, Clinton addressed the Russian Duma for the first time in American history. He said Russia does not need to fear America’s missile defence program. On October 16, 2000, Bill Clinton attended an emergency meeting to come to an agreement to end the violence happening in Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat were a part of it. They both felt satisfied by the outcome of the meeting. He also signed a bill that gave China the permanent and normal trade status. On November, 2000, President Clinton became the first American president to visit Vietnam after the Vietnam War. Clinton on his last days of presidency publically admitted to giving misleading testimony in the Lewinsky investigation.
He was fined around $25,000, and his license to practice law was cancelled. After his presidency, Bill continues to be an active public figure and raise money for many issues around the world. He is known to give speeches around the world. In 2015, he supported his wife Hillary Clinton to run for the presidency.
