Trust the good rappers to be of colored origin. Shante Scott Franklin is also one of them. Known more by his stage name, Currensy, he is an American rapper from the New Orleans area in Louisiana. Born on 04 April 1981, he prefers to write his name as Curren$y. He has another nickname as well, Spitta Andretti.
Not much information is available about his parents and family. However, he has attained fame as one of the founder members of the group, Young Money Entertainment.

A deal with Warner Bros Records was next on the cards. His first project with this group was Covert Coup. One of his latest mixtape, New Jet City had guest appearances by Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, Jadakiss, Rick Ross, etc.
In 2014, he released a new mixtape, The Drive in Theater followed by the Godfather 4 featuring Alicia Bronson.

However, legal tangles are nothing new to Currensy. He filed a case against Damon Dash for releasing his music tapes without authorization. He won the lawsuit when the Court awarded him $ 3 million in settlement.
