The American rapper, singer, record producer and songwriter was born as Austin Richard Post in Syracuse, New York on July 4, 1995. July 4th also happens to be the American Independence Day. Malone is popularly known by his stage name Post Malone. His glory days are very recent as he first gained popularity in February 2015, post the launch of his debut single ‘White Iverson’. Republic Records signed Malone in August 2015 and his debut studio album ‘Stoney’ came out on December 9, 2016.
After dropping out of college within just a few months of his admission, Malone moved to Los Angeles, California with his friend Jason Stokes. His stage name has also been said to have a reference with the basketball player Karl Malone, but Post Malone explained that ‘Post’ is his last name and ‘Malone’ has just been made up. Malone titled his debut mix-tape ‘August 26th’ as a reference to the release date of ‘Stoney’, which was his first studio album. Malone also apologized for a delay in the awaited album which was later released on December 9, 2016.
Malone and his family moved to Grapevine, Texas when he was 10 years old. He loved sports, especially Basketball and his father worked for the Dallas Cowboys in the food and beverage department so he was always treated to free food and games. He also developed an interest in playing guitar through the famous video game, ‘Guitar Hero’.
Malone started producing music through FL studio and was 16 when he began working on his first track. His endeavors also helped him gain popularity in his school ‘Grapevine High School’.
