Bob Dylan – Singer, songwriter, artist, and writer, is an American. He was born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota. He was raised in Hibbing, Minnesota. Dylan’s father is Abram Zimmerman, an electric appliance shop owner, and his mother Beatrice “Beatty” stone. His parents were part of closely knit Jewish communities. Robert was 6 years old when his father had polio and spent the rest of his childhood in Hibbing, his mothers’ hometown.
Bob had an interest in music since his childhood. He initially listened to blues and country stations and later to rock and roll during his teenage years. He had formed various bands during high school. He also performed piano and clapping during his school years.

In 1963, Dylan performed a play at the end of which he played his “Blowing’ in the Wind” song. This was his first public performance. His topical songs enhanced his reputation and he was considered as the voice of his generation. His political profile too rose during the same time when he refused to appear in a censorship.
In 1965, Dylan made his first recording with electric instruments in the album “Bringing it all back home” which was also a big success. In July 1966, Dylan met with an accident and broke most of his vertebrae. After which in 1970, his performance was not that great. In 1973, he restarted with a new label, David Geffen’s Asylum Records and started touring again.
But, his tours gave him mostly mixed reviews. He closed his decade in the 80’s on a high note. The 90’s started with a new album of Dylan but didn’t receive positive reviews and sale was all time low. In 2000 he started by receiving Polar Music Prize and first Oscar.
In the next decade(2012) he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom award from the President Barack Obama. In 2016, he released his 37th studio album, Fallen Angels and also received the Nobel Prize in Literature. A 36-CD set of Bob Dylan’s recordings were released by Legacy Recordings during the same year. In January 2017, Dylan has announced the schedule for release of his album Triplicate in March 2017.
