Karel was born in 1939 on 14th July in Pilsen, to mother Marie Gottova and father Karel Gott Sr. Later he relocated with his family to Prague, when he was 6.
He has experimented working with drums, guitars and other instruments but later chose singing as his niche.
He has two daughter named Dominika and Lucie, both of whom have different mothers. He also has a daughter with Ivana Machackova named Charlotte Ella. The couple married in Las Vegas in 2008. They gave birth to their second daughter in 2008 who was named Nelly Sofie.
After completing his schooling he initially wanted to graduate in arts, but failed to clear the entrance exams for UMPRUM. This pushed him to opt for a training course in electronics. After his education, he started serving as an electrician.
